Who can view/join my getties?
There are three different privacy settings for any gettie you create:
- Public: Anyone can view, join, and contribute to your gettie. This is the best privacy setting if you are trying to promote your gettie and get the most people to join. If you are organizing an activity, the exact address will only be shared with each user after they have joined your gettie. Before joining your gettie, people will only see a large area radius that shows the general area, but not the exact location. In addition, your followers will be automatically notified each time you create a public gettie.
- Private: Only people who have the link or are invited to your gettie will be able to view the page and join or contribute. Your gettie won’t appear on the main feed.
- Semi-Private: Now this is where it gets interesting! Anyone can view your gettie on the home feed and read its description, but they cannot freely join. In order for people to join a Semi-Private gettie, they must Request Access from the host. The host then receives a list of everyone who is requesting access and can accept or decline each request from there.
When a user is accepted by the host, they will then automatically join and receive the address and details of the gettie. If a user is declined access from the host, they will not gain access to any location or details and not be charged any money (if the host was collecting money for the gettie).
